Halifax Firefighter Combat Challenge Team Update

Halifax Regional Municipality Firefighter Combat Challenge TeamAfter finishing a very successful 2009 year in both National and International competition, Also with the 2010 year well underway things are starting to shape up for our team. Our group has gone through some significant changes and will continue to evolve every day as individuals and as a team through this season with our focus and our energy devoted toward the same goal.

The first event of the year having already taken place in Dubai, Joe Triff placed first in the open mens category edging out the current world champion and other high calibre athletes from many other teams. It looks like the first time we will compete as a full team will be the Canadian Atlantic Regional in July taking place in Halifax. This year the Team feels very proud to be a part of Dr.Burke’s RIVALUS Family and with the continued of support of  RIVALUS,Halifax Regional Municipality and Our Coach Alan Wetmore of “The Ultimate Athlete Factory” we feel that this will be our best season yet!

Will I gain weight if I take PROMASIL?

QUESTION:

Hi Dr. Burke,
I recently bought Promasil protein powder. I am not an athlete, i walk a few times a week. Will this product make me gain weight? I am new to protein shakes so I don’t know much about them. I wanted to add protein to my diet because i don’t think i had enough of it. Therefore I bought it mostly as a supplement. However friends are telling me I will blow up, gain weight etc.. Is this true? and if so what would you reccoment me switching to?

Hi and thank you for the message. PROMASIL is an excellent choice for reaching your objective. You do not need to be an athlete to enjoy the benefits of including a clean and safe protein powder in your diet. Is RAPID-FX okay for people with Type I Diabetes?

QUESTION:

I do have a question. I am 43 years old and have had Type I diabetes since I was 9 months old. I take extremely good care of myself and reap the results of no complications and amazing kidney function. I do weightlift and run. I have been looking up the ingredients in the Rapid FX to see if there is anything in the ingredients as to why I should not take it. I don’t see any. What are your thoughts?

ANSWER:

Hi there and thank you for the message. I would suggest you talk to your family doctor first prior to taking any supplement. If he or she is Ok with you trying RAPID-FX then this is my advice: Knowing that you have effectively controlled your diabetes for your entire life I would say that it would be OK for you to try RAPID-FX. However, I would suggest you keep a very close eye on your blood sugar. I’m sure you have already noticed the effect of changes in your exercise and diet on your diabetes. RAPID-FX does not have anything hazardous to your health in it; however, it will increase your metabolic rate and in turn this will change your use of sugar (fuel) in your body.

What do you recommend for a very active 16 year old?

QUESTION:

I am 16 years of age and i play many sports, constenley active, and i work out at least 6 times a week and 2 days throughout the week i do a one hour stretch. I was woundering what would you reccomend i try to improve muscle strength,repair and growth?

ANSWER:

Hi and thanks for the message. Based on your busy training schedule I recommend you take PROMASIL for sure. You should be taking 2-4 scoops per day to increase your lean muscle and speed up the repair of muscle between training sessions.
