Achieve Your Goals Every Time

Achieve Your Goals Every Time

Whether you realize it or not, everyone has goals. Goals can be as simple as keeping your current job for financial stability, or to walk the stairs instead of taking the elevator each day. A goal is something a person desires in their everyday life to simply make life more enjoyable or functional.

An important fact however, is that people who are considered. “A” class achievers are very intentional and focused on their goals, while many people are not. These types of people understand the basic skills for setting and reaching their goals, every time.

Reachable goals are specific and simple, if you want to lose 10 lb to reach your desired weight, specify those exact numbers. If you know precisely what you are aiming for, you will be more likely to succeed. Also there is no need to express your goals in complex terms and get into great detail, keep them simple. Design your goals to strategically impact as many areas of your life as possible. “A” class achievers know that the best goals accomplish many great outcomes, all at one time.

If you can relate to the motion picture film “Rudy” (1993). The plot to this film was one of the best told true stories in sports history. It was about a young man who grew up in a steel mill town where most people ended up working. However, Rudy wanted to play football at Notre Dame instead. There were a couple of problems. His grades were a little low, his athletic skills were poor, and he was only half the size of the other players. This all said, because Rudy had a goal and he achieved that goal by doing whatever it took to accomplish it.

What I believe is the most important aspect of setting and successfully achieving your goals is to WRITE IT DOWN! The act of writing your goals down vastly increases your chances of success. This can be something you see every day as a constant reminder of the task at hand. If you wake up in the morning and see your goal is to run 400m in under 1min, it will seem as if something in your brain has suddenly turned on and your mental state of mind has already began preparing for the 400m run. Finally I have found that one of the biggest reasons people fail to achieve their goals is that they have conflict between their behaviour and their values. However, when your values and your goals are in agreement, there is no stopping you!
