Wheatgrass And Bodybuilding

As many of you may already know, wheatgrass products have been popping up rather frequently over the past couple of years. Research keeps revealing more and more health benefits from drinking fresh wheatgrass juice.

Wheatgrass itself is extremely fibrous and indigestible from the human stomach, which is why we need to juice it before we consume it. Its exceptionally high content of 70% chlorophyll makes it known as a “superfood.” There are plenty of other things which make it super. Starting with the lengthy amount of amino acids (roughly 17), followed through by excellent sources of vitamin C, K, E, and B. Minerals such as calcium, cobalt, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, protein, sodium, and zinc to name a bunch.

Knowing what a little shot of wheatgrass packs, we can naturally assume there are plenty health benefits. It’s an antioxidant, detoxifies, and you can even rub it on your foot to take control of athletes foot. What about bodybuilding?  For starters it has the lengthy list of amino acids and roughly 50% protein. Secondly, chlorophyll contains more energy than any other element and is very similar to a haemoglobin molecule. What this means is that chlorophyll can be used by the body to increase red blood cells and therefore the amount of oxygen delivered to the muscles.

So, if you aren’t already shooting wheatgrass, give it a go. Start with a one ounce shot a day and eventually work it up to two ounces a couple times a day.

Is wheatgrass only this beneficial when juiced? Is it usually a drink by itself or what are the recommended fruits or veggies to mix it with?
