What Are The Effects Of Creatine Cessation?

September 8th, 2010 Dr. Darren Burke, PhD No comments

QUESTION:
Hello Dr. Burke,

What are the effects of cessation of creatine supplementation. Do you keep the strength gains or lose some of it?

ANSWER:
Hi and thanks for your question. It depends on the duration of the cessation you are speaking of. If you are still physically active and conscious about eating healthy, then the cessation of creatine will not cause you to lose all of your strength. With our creatine product, ENCHARGE, we recommend that after 8 weeks of continuous use a two week period off CYCLE will result in even bigger gains once you start taking ENCHARGE again. A brief off CYCLE period is for your receptors to up-regulate as a result of the reduced daily creatine exposure. When ENCHARGE is re-introduced back into your supplement routine, you will experience even greater creatine uptake into your muscles and in turn bigger gains in strength and size. The CYCLING on and off ENCHARGE is actually better with each subsequent CYCLE as the total creatine pool inside your muscles will continue to increase with each subsequent CYCLE on. This will promote rapid gains in size and strength and fast recovery. It depends on whether you are speaking of cycling off or just ceasing the supplement entirely! Regardless, you will still be stronger and bigger than you were before. I hope this answers your question. Continue to train hard and keep me posted on your progress.

What Is The Difference Between Protein Isolate and Concentrate?

September 8th, 2010 Dr. Darren Burke, PhD No comments

QUESTION:
What is the difference between protein concentrate and protein isolate? Does it really matter which kind I use?

ANSWER:
Hi there and thanks for your question. This is certainly a well asked question and one that deserves a detailed answer. We must first understand what whey is and how this contributes to the difference in isolate and concentrate. Whey is the natural byproduct from making cheese. It is essentially in a raw state which needs to be processed in a manner that separates it into protein, lactose, and fat. Have you ever noticed that the protein isolate is much more money? This is because it is a much more pure version. In reverse, concentrate contains less of the good protein and more of the fat and lactose. Concentrate typically contains 70 to 85% protein, where as Isolate contains around 90 to 97%. From experience, there really isn’t a huge difference between the two as far as muscle building is concerned. Isolate is less fat so this might be a better choice depending on the goal you had in mind. However concentrate may contain some more essential proteins as it is not as refined as the isolate. Both are great choices which is why RIVALUS’ has incorporated a number of proteins in PROMASIL. It has (1) whey protein isolate, (2) whey protein concentrate, (3) whey protein hydrolysate, (4) calcium caseinate, (5) egg protein, (6) goat milk protein, and (7) milk protein isolate. These are essentially seven sources with both isolate and concentrate to give you a sustainable and time-released delivery of amino acids. Great for muscle building and great for recovery! I hope this answers your question. Continue to train hard and keep me posted on your progress.

Hi and thanks for your question. I am so glad to hear you have successfully won against cancer. I am even more pleased to hear I was able to help you after the fact! It`s wonderful to hear you are back on your feet again and doing the active things you love. PROMASIL is a great product that will help you reach your goals and keep up the activity! I know that any of RIVALUS` products can be safely stacked together. However, due to the delicacy of your recent treatment, I would most definitely recommend you speak with your doctor before consuming any supplements. Each individual is unique and I just cannot thoroughly confirm if these products will interact with your previous or present condition. It`s just for that added reassurance! But they are most definitely safely stackable, and a great combination. Best of luck with your health, keep up the great work, absolutely amazing to hear.

Would It Be Good To Stack HEMOXY with MPOWER?

QUESTION:
Hi.. Again

Just wondering.. Would Hemoxy.. A nitric oxide product if I’m correct?… Be good to combine with the thermogenic MPOWER? I was wondering, because the oxidation of fat from Hemoxy combined with the thermogenic capability of MPOWER would make it a great stack… Not to mention the muscle sparting effects from the Hemoxy… Would you then be allowed to build muscle and reduce fat?.. Just wondering.. Thank you for your time.

ANSWER:
Hi and thanks for the question. HEMOXY and MPOWER would most definitely be a great combination together. As you probably know, you can stack any of RIVALUS’ products together to sort of customize your plan in achieving your goals. You can definitely build muscle and reduce fat. Many of our athletes will actually stack HEMOXY with ENCHARGE and MPOWER to create the ultimate muscle-building / fat-loss stack. ENCHARGE is our creatine product which enhances muscle protein synthesis, strength and size. So I would most definitely combine at least HEMOXY with MPOWER, and if you`re looking for a little bit more, I would suggest ENCHARGE! Combine this with an adequate exercise regime and eating healthy and you should be one step closer in reaching your goals. I hope this answers your question. Am I Taking Too Many Pills?

QUESTION:
i am on your creatine product. it recomends 6 tablets a day. i just bought your fat burner product last night which recomends 1-2 tablets a day and the gnc store i bought it at recommended a multi vitomen. thats about 9-10 tablets total a day. is this safe or too much?

ANSWER:
Hi there and thanks for your question. I’m very happy to hear you are taking some of our products. Sometimes multi-vitamins might be necessary if you are not able to get all necessary vitamins and minerals via food. Getting these nutrients through food is your best option, but I understand that sometimes it is not possible. If you are concerned you are taking too many products, I would most definitely check with your doctor before continuing. Since each individual is unique, this is just a safe means to ensure you are doing everything the healthy way! I’d like to note that many of our customers use several of our products at once, and do so safely/successfully! Do let me know if you have any further questions.
